The coastline and beaches of North Carolina have been the setting for many a romantic novel, high school beach week, and even an iconic TV show about lusty creekside teens. Soon, this picturesque coastline will serve as the backdrop for new Netflix series, OBX. Well, sort of.

As we reported in January, the series will be shot in South Carolina instead of the Tar Heel State "in protest of HB-142, a state law preventing cities from passing laws that protect trans folks' access to public accommodations."
While the show's creator Jonas Pate had Wilmington in mind, he told the Fayetteville Observer, "This tiny law is costing this town 70 good, clean, pension-paying jobs and also sending a message to those people who can bring these jobs and more that North Carolina still doesn’t get it."

A beach is a beach is a beach, and we think if anyone can turn the Lowcountry into an N.C. coastal city, it's our friends over at Netflix.

The series starts filming Wed. May 1 and if you want to play a part in this "10 episode thriller," follow the Facebook page TW Cast and Recruit, where you'll find instructions on how to submit and what to include in your email.

There will be a "great need" for teens and young adults, but there will be ample opportunities for "all ages to work on the production throughout the duration of filming." Extras will be paid $80 for eight hours and every hour over eight gets you time and a half.

The submission request is pretty standard — headshots, clothing sizes, location, list of tattoos and piercings. They also ask that you share the color, make, model, and year of your car, "Brownie points if you include a photo!" (We're assuming tricked out Jeeps we'll be the go-to for this OBX-set show.)
