South Carolina currently ranks 17th on Becker’s Hospital Review’s list of state-by-state vaccine distribution percentages. According to vaccine allocation data, the state has distributed 78.9% of doses received.

In an effort to make vaccines equally available to all state residents, the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) created a vaccine demographics dashboard. The data includes age, gender, race and ethnicity of individuals who have been vaccinated.

Because S.C. is still in phase 1a of distribution, demographic information reflects the requirements for eligibility, meaning the data could be skewed toward older age groups due to current stipulations.

Health officials announced 1,109 new cases on Monday and an additional 31 deaths, bringing the state’s total death toll to 7,180. With 24,556 tests reported, 6.5% were positive.
