City Paper launches free iPhone app to find local happy hours

$4 Jäger bombs? There's an app for that

We’re proud to announce the launch of Cocktail Compass, a free iPhone app that shows you nearby happy hours based on your current location. It’s a quick and useful way of checking the best specials for winding down after work.

The app shows current happy hours, so the magic happens around 4 p.m. But it also includes an extensive bar directory with the ability to save favorites and check happy hours at your regular haunts. And for those extra-fun occasions, you can always click on the Cabs icon for help getting home.

Whether you’re downtown, in Mt. Pleasant, or Folly Beach (or any other suburb), we’ve got listings for nearly every bar in town. If you’re looking for a specific feature like Wi-Fi (workaholic), a patio, or live music, you can find it quickly and easily. Keep track of your favorite bars so that you’ll always remember them — even if you discovered them on a blurry night.

The bar-savvy staff at the City Paper is constantly updating the Compass, so you can count on the freshest info, including reviews and photos of featured listings.

Try it out for free by downloading it from the iTunes store, or search for “cocktail compass charleston” in the app store on your phone.
