Life Raft Treat’s owner Cynthia Wong unveiled her latest batch of masterful desserts on Monday, Dec. 7, and like her sweet Thanksgiving plate, the new treats look exactly like savory holiday dishes. Look for the six-time James Beard Award-nominated pastry chef’s rendition of Swiss cheese and canned ham, among other holiday favorites.

Last month, Wong told the City Paper she was planning some 3D Christmas-themed shapes and would utilize edible gold leaf in her next batch of holiday desserts, and her “golden Christmas cheese” delivers both. What looks like a big wedge of Swiss cheese is actually “a luscious vanilla cheesecake ice cream treat with a center of rummy cherries, a passion fruit shell and gold dust,” Wong said.

Perhaps the centerpiece of the new series is the “canned ham,” which serves 8-10 people. “Under its very honey-baked ham-like exterior of caramelized white chocolate and almonds, you’ll find a winter wonderland of vanilla ice cream, cranberries, candied pink grapefruit and gingerbread and sticky toffee pudding cake bits,” Wong said.

Order these or one of the other holiday-themed Life Raft Treats by visiting liferafttreats.com. The first ordering window opened on Monday, Dec. 7 (for pick-up at High Wire Distilling on Dec. 12), and the second will open on Dec. 14 (for pick-up on Dec. 23).

These treats will go fast, so get them while they’re … cold.
