Little tykes are getting a new place to shop on King Street: Sugar Snap Pea. After a grand opening party on Wednesday, the shop officially opened its doors today in the old Plum Elements space at 161 1/2 King St.

Owner Zhenya Lundgren moved to Charleston in January after working in advertising at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia in Chicago.

You’ll find children’s clothes, toys, organic products, and equipment like carriers and slings. “It’s basically everything new mommies would need and things that would make the life of new mommies easier,” Lundgren says.

The name Sugar Snap Pea reflects the store’s unique selection — Sugar for sweetly Southern, snap for a modern twist, and pea for your little one.
