A series of awesome events

Book-lovers unite for Blue Bicycle Book’s annual YALLFest. For two days, Young Adult authors will swarm Charleston’s streets to meet their fans and talk books. While this year’s ticketed events are already sold out, you can still check out 22 other panels on a whole variety of topics, several meetup events, and over 80 book signings with 65 different authors. The festival kicks off on Fri. Nov. 13 from 3-5 p.m. with the YALLCrawl on Upper King where dozens of authors will be waiting to meet with fans and autograph books including Veronica Roth, Brandon Mull, Melissa de la Cruz, and E. Lockhart. Saturday brings in the Big Day of Panels and Signings from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Upper King where all authors will sign books and participate in a number of panels. Owner of Blue Bicycle Books Jonathan Sanchez says he’s particularly excited for the Middle Grade Storyball event at noon on Saturday. “Lemony Snicket, RL Stine, Pseudonymous Bosch, Alexander London, and all the middle grade authors will be on stage at once working with the kids in the audience to write a new story which will then be published as a book by CreateSpace,” says Sanchez. “We get a lot of awesome out of town fans but would love to see more local kids at YALLFest, and this is the perfect event for them.” Check out the YALLfest website for details on each event.
