Re: “THE GOOD FIGHT ‌ No Place Like Home

Once again I see where bikers are being given a bad name and people call us the scourge of earth. I for one would like to say I take offense to your statement. While crime does go up when bikers come in such large numbers, I would bet that percentage wise that we bring no more crime to your area than your own citizens. While we might make it abit noisy for a couple of days, our economic impact on your city is huge. If each biker just spends $10 while they are in your town, that would be over a million dollars in revenue your town would not have. We certainly spend more than $10 when we visit anywhere. I would figure for a couple of days of fun in your city, each biker will spend several hundred dollars at a Heritage Rally type event. I bet if you talk to the store owners that serve us during the events in your town, you will find that our dollars help keep their prices lower for you and your town. Even your government benefits from our dollars that we would not normally bring to your city. The taxes collected from all the gas, lodging and food help to improve your city services like parks and other important services. Next year when your budgets come due and they see the decline in tax revenues, I think the city commision will be thinking it would have been nice to have the money that the rally provided. -Daryl
