Re: “Let's not let Charleston become Myrtle Beach

Sir,
Most things are never cut and dry and while you have the right to express your opinion I respectfully disagree with the generalization that was implied. I believe every gathering brings with it those who fail to obey the law, are a nuisance and blatantly disrepectful. With the former being state please allow me to share my experiences.
I own two motorcylces and have been in situations where my motorcycles have broken down while out riding, one day even caught me with two motorcycle wrecks (same day) and Sir the care/attention/concern and aid I received from my fellow (inclusive of male and female riders) was unbelievable. All who were on bikes came to my aid by covering me from the sun where I lay on the side of the road, moving my bike to a safer location, running and I mean running up a hill to get cell reception to call 911.
I had three fellow riders quit the run and come to the hospital that I was transported to ensuring I was alright. They gave me my gear (one of which was my shoe that was ripped from my foot) and some humor.
When I have had the opportunity for "roadside assistance" everyone who has stopped was either on their bike, owned a bike or had ridden, every one of them. Did I get assistance from traditional vechile drivers, no Sir. I received looks as they sped on past, perhaps because they too believe in sterotyping. A quick summation Sir is that I am dismayed with your column and if I'm passing a rider in need I will stop because that is the heart of a rider; helpful, caring, courteous and free.
