We here at the City Paper love animals. Like, a lot. If you didn't just catch our news about donating 50 percent of your Chipotle purchase to the Charleston Animal Society next week, fear not. We've got another way for you to give back to the Lowcountry's four-legged fidos and felines.

All day on Sun. Aug. 13 Coastal Expeditions' Folly Creek outpost offers free kayak and SUP rentals in exchange for a large bag of dog or cat food (a minimum of 25 pounds for dog and 15 pounds for cat food bags). All donations are given to Pet Helpers, located on James Island. The best part? Your furry friend is welcome to come along. Dogs, of course. Or heck, adventurous cats, too.

Participants will receive a ticket for one free beer from The Barrel, a very dog-friendly bar, located just down the street from the Folly Creek outpost. And if you forget your big 'ol bag of pet food you can still pay for a rental knowing that Coastal Expeditions donates all of the money to Pet Helpers.
