Re: “FILM REVIEW ‌ Crib Death

This review is laughable, and I am not even a strong advocate for this film. Perhaps the film reviewer would have been more pleased if the director of "Nativity" had followed in the footsteps of one of the network soap operas, and added a transgender character. Now wouldn't that be provocative? Yeah, right. In addition, I don't think this reviewer knows as much as she thinks she does about the story, or how it is weaved into the fabric of Western Civilization. I would venture to say that she, as well as most people these days (and I mean people educated in the last days of the 20th century) would know more about Sherlock Holmes and Superman than they would about Jesus Christ, or any of the other historical characters in the Biblical account. My only disappointment, based on the review, given that I have not seen the film, is that the screenwriter evidently continues to perpetuate the misconception that there were only three wise men. The Biblical account never states there were only three. More than likely there were many more than that. And more wise men would have been more interesting, that's for sure. But, blah blah blah on the rest of this very banal review. I suppose if the film is bland and vanilla, then the reviewer is well-qualified to deem something as bland and vanilla.
