North Charleston's St. Paddy's Day Block Party draws thousands of people to Park Circle

St. Patrick's Day is getting close. Here are all the ways to celebrate the weekend with parades, bar crawls, and green beer.

Out of Town

First off, if you're up for a drive for one of the bigger out-of-town St. Patrick's Day celebrations, head to Columbia or Savannah. Both are on the same weekend this year, March 15-17.

Head down to Savannah for their St. Patrick's Weekend Celebrations starting Fri. Mar. 15 with live music, food, games, and more starting at 10 a.m. for their St. Patrick's Day Festival. Then, spend Saturday morning, starting at 10:15 a.m. for what they call one of the largest St. Patrick's Day Parade in the world. Wristbands to drink publicly are $10 per day.

Take a trip out of the city for Columbia's 37th annual St. Pat's in Five Points on Sat. Mar. 16 for live music, silent discos, a parade, and more starting at 9 a.m. Tickets start at $20. The headliner for this year's fest is Dashboard Confessional, with appearances by local artists like The High Divers, FatRat da Czar, and more.

Close to Home

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day early in North Charleston for the St. Paddy's Day Block Party and Parade on Sat. Mar. 9 for a parade at noon, followed by an entire day of music, food, and a good time.

If you want to keep the day low-key and spend it in the city, Charleston's St. Patrick's Day Celebration will kick off at 8 a.m. on Sat. Mar. 16 with a mass at St. Patrick's Church (St. Phillips and Radcliffe), with the parade at 10 a.m. starting at the corner of King and Radcliffe St.

If you're hosting a party, head to Duck Donuts anytime between now and March 17 to get a festive Lucky Duck Dozen, with donuts with toppings like green icing and a lucky marshmallow cereal.

Friday

Celebrate the fun early at Big Gun Burger Shop & Bar for their Lucky Hour Party, starting at 5 p.m., for music, dancing, and lucky drink specials. Tickets start at $15.

Head to Goose Creek for their Leprechaun Bash at Carnes Crossroads and the Green Barn for music, food, and leprechauns, starting at 4 p.m.

Saturday

Total Car Service is offering bus trips to and from Savannah for you to partake in their St. Patrick's Day Parade. Pick up and drop off are at Citadel Mall in the old Sears parking lot. Tickets are $45 per person one way.

Roast and Toast at Rusty Bull from 4-10 p.m. with $10 buckets of oysters, live music, and food truck eats.

O'Brion's is hosting a St. Patrick's Weekend Bash with food and drink specials with $3 16 oz. beer, $5 Irish whiskey, a DJ on Sat., a scavenger hunt on Sun., and much more. Weekend kicks off at 11 a.m. and ends Sun. night.

Mac's Place hosts a St. Paddy's Weekend Bash this Saturday and Sunday with live music, tastings, specials, giveaways, green beer, and more.

It's the 2nd annual St. Paddy's Day on King Bar Crawl, kicking off at 12 p.m. at The Brick, where you'll receive your scorecard and list of participating bars with drink specials and priority access. Then, check back in at The Brick at 8 p.m. for their after party and a chance at over $1000 in prizes. Tickets start at $15.

Join in on an Irish Stroll starting at 1 p.m. at Carolina Ale House starting at $15 per person and receive your map and wristband, giving you access to drink specials and food at participating bars.

Summerville Family YMCA is hosting their annual Shamrock Shuffle, where participants will "paint" the town green while raising funds to help support health and wellness programs at the Y. Tickets start at $10 with options of a 1 mile, 5K, or 10K.

From 2 to 8 p.m., Dockery's is hosting a St. Patrick's Day Block Party to benefit the Music Battery. Join them for special beer releases, Irish food, and live music.

It's the 24th annual Hilton Head Shamrock Run, starting at 8 a.m. in front of New York City Pizza. Tickets to register start at $30.

Head over to historic Downtown Summerville for the 3rd Annual St. Patrick's Day Party in the Square for an afternoon of outdoor games, live music, prizes, and more starting at 10:30 a.m.

Dunleavy's Pub is hosting a St. Patrick's Block Party starting at 1 p.m., featuring live music, Irish step dancers, bagpipers, corned beef, and more Irish goodness.

Celebrate at Saltwater Cowboys, with live music (from 12-4 p.m.) and a DJ (from 4-7 p.m.)

Head to the Shelter Kitchen + Bar for a St. Pat's day pub crawl featuring drink specials and live music.

Sunday

Join in on the Kiss Me, I'm Irish Bar Crawl starting at 11 a.m. Purchase your wristband here for $10, giving you access to all participating bars for no cover and drink specials all day long.

Triangle Char and Bar in Avondale is hosting a St. Patrick's Brunch and Parking Lot Party. Brunch kicks off at 10 a.m., but the party'll continue with a DJ spinning at 2 p.m. and Melted Velvet taking the stage after. Tickets are $5.

Seanachai is hosting Celtic-influenced band Moonlight Ale for an Irish-influenced afternoon starting at 2 p.m.

Container Bar and Rutledge Cab Co. are hosting a St. Patrick's Day Block Party starting at 11 a.m. on the corner of Rutledge and Mt. Pleasant St. The block party with have an oyster roast, food trucks, live music, giveaways, and food and drink specials.
