For basketball fans, is there a better time of year than March Madness? A close friend of mine goes into isolation to watch nothing but basketball, so happy hour specials are one way to coax her out of her Tar Heel daze. Here's where to go to score a deal and see the games.

During the tournament

Feeling some Hoop Fever? Bring your bracket to the Alley for drink specials including $4 shots and $12 beer buckets during every tournament game. They'll be showing every game and turning the sound on for "big match ups."

You can hit the road and head to Columbia to see some of the games at the Colonial Life Arena, where the first and second rounds will be held.

Woodward Tavern will be having discounted beer pitchers, drink specials, and $5 apps.

Get your basketball fix at one of Kickin’ Chicken’s five locations with $4 March specials like Jack Daniel's Tennessee Fire shots and seasonal Sam Adams brews on tap.

North Mt. Pleasant's Mellow Mushroom will be doing a $4 SweetWater drafts during all NCAA tournament games. 

Wed. March 20

Fleet Feet is hosting a March Madness Pub Run — stay after the fun run for basketball trivia.

Get your miles in wearing your favorite jersey at Charleston Beer Works' Beer and Run, featuring $4 local drafts for runners and $3 sliders.

Thurs. March 21

Head to Red's Ice House for a "play hooky day" this Thurs. March 21 for a live broadcast of ESPN radio, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Get your food fix as early as 10 a.m. for the brackets and bloodys breakfast.

Fri. March 22

The Brick is hosting a watch party for Virginia Tech vs. St. Louis.

Kickin' Chicken West Ashley is hosting a a watch party for UCF vs. VCU.
