Weekend Round-Up: Screw Jack Frost

The best events in Charleston Jan. 24-26

Did anyone else feel like this week was eerily long but that it also went by quickly? We don't really know what to make of it, so instead we're just going to party to stay warm.

Friday Blu hosts the Taste of Folly Cocktail Contest — $20 for unlimited cocktail samples. Not too shabby.

Or spend those 20 bones at the third annual Localist Oyster Roast at the Charleston Crab House.

Wunderkammer opens at Redux. Dead animals never photographed so well.

It feels cold enough for real snow so why not party in the fake stuff? Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina hosts the Winterfest Apres Ski and Snow Party.

Wicked Divas take the stage to perform some Broadway hits.

Saturday It's the grand opening of a new craft beer haven in Mt. P.

Take back drinking on Folly when Center Street is closed for Taste of Folly.

The more kid-friendly part of Winterfest takes place Saturday afternoon.

Leapin' lizards, Repticon is in town. Go hang with your cold-blooded friends at Omar Shrine Temple.

Ever get tired of watching films based in big cities? Rural Route Shorts are all set in — wait for it — rural places.

Stay warm with eating copious amounts of Chili at Sweeney's Chili Cook-Off.

Sunday Chris Boone performs at the Shelter

It's the Lowcountry Oyster Festival, which really just means oysters and booze.  But be prepared for the traffic.

Get fancy at the Braise and Brew at Middleton Place. Beer and meat, yum.
