Weekend Round-Up: Leftovers

The best events in Charleston, Nov. 26-28

So there isn’t a whole lot going on this weekend. It’s like the city collectively knows that we’re either going to be too full of turkey to want to move from out couches, or that we’ll be too exhausted from waking up at the crack of dawn to get some deals at local megamarts. But if you are looking for something to do, here’s some suggestions:

Theatre 99’s show schedule is at full force, with Improv Smackdown!, This is Chucktown!, and The Have Nots!. With all those exclamation points, you know it’s going to be exciting!

I’ve personally never done a Black Friday. In fact, my mom and I usually try to stick it to the man by going to a thrift store together instead. Ah, family traditions. You can also get your shop on while avoiding the malls at the East Cooper Crafters Guild Holiday Show, the Middleton Place Holiday Market, and the Hamlin Holiday Market.

The South Carolina Stingrays have games against the Gwinnett Gladiators and the Toledo Walleye.

Now that Thanksgiving’s over, you don’t have to feel guilty for blasting Christmas music 24/7. Actually, maybe you should, because I hate Christmas music. Maybe I’d like it better live, like at A Spiritual Christmas. But most likely, I’d probably feel a lot more comfortable at the Holy City Cold Heart Revival.

Start burning off the holiday calories at Sea Kayak Carolina’s Day After the Bird Kayak Paddle and Robbins Creek Kayak Trip.Or detox from the turkey at the Friends of McLeod Benefit Oyster Roast.

The Charleston Tibetan Society is hosting a Charity Auction.

8 Femmes is a French murder mystery film playing in Park Circle on Saturday.

And that’s all we’ve got, Charleston. We know it’s not much, but at least it’s something.
