Re: “Quick Bite: Bon Banh Mi keeps it simple and fresh

I don't mind paying more for an authentic and good banh mi knowing full well that certain things are just not available in Charleston, like dim sum or good Thai, because the locals don't like leaving their comfort zone. I tried their sandwiches at the recent Southern Ground Festival and was disappointed mainly because they had everything right except they used some chopped pork. I see they seem to have the pate with Vietnamese pork (which wasn't available at the festival, probably due to the cooking facilities), so I'll try them again to see if they "got it right". No, you won't get most Asian food in Charleston nearly as good as NYC or California, or even Florida where there are larger Asian populations, but I hope someone gets close. Tried a couple of places in town and so far no one has got it right yet.
