Re: “J. Paul'z toes the line between contempo-dining and sports bar

I love JPaulz. Don't get there as much as I used to but it it the perfect place for a drink and bite after a movie at the Terrace. The staff is great.

Re: “Pane e Vino keeps the patio packed by offering classic trattoria fare

My impression was that they didn't even want to deal with separate credit cards. Single checks are their policy and they are free to do as they like - it just keeps me from going there. There were seven adults at the table and it was unexpected not to be able to pay for our own meals. Simple math on individual cards wasn't an offered option.

I expect they can manage without me and my friends. The owner laughed when she told us we couldn't have separate checks. They have their preferences and I have mine. There are plenty of restaurants that will let me buy myself dinner.

It is a nuisance and unpleasant way to end a meal to count and deal with cash. I travel with a debit card.

Their refusal to take seperate checks ruins it for me. I am a single adult who enjoys eating with other single adults and feel like I should be able to pay for my meal.
