Scoop presents a peek at Julio Cotto's forthcoming graphic novel

SCOOP Studios opened its doors last Friday evening for the opening of Julio Cotto's solo exhibit, The Day the Peacemaker Made Peace. The exhibit is based on a graphic novel of the same name that Cotto is currently working on. The exhibit provides an outline of what to expect from the graphic novel, which is infused with Western and science-fiction elements. It's a love story centered around a heroine and her hero, a cowboy, who dream about each other and fall in love, despite being trapped in two different worlds.

Cotto found inspiration in artwork by his late grandfather, Abednego Rivera, and he incorporates time travel into the storyline of his novel. Samples of his grandfather's space illustrations were also shown alongside Cotto's work. The exhibit is just the beginning and Cotto doesn't expect the graphic novel to be fully completed for another two years.
