Re: “The GOP follows a different beat today than they did in 2008

The GOP faces a major dilemma with Ron Paul. To win the battle or win the war?

Assuming they are truly at odds with one another it would be better for the GOP to lose this battle (2012) by paradoxically embracing Ron Paul and giving him the 2012 nomination and hope he flops as President which would silence the liberty movement for 10-25 years, it is a major risk because if he loses in the general his message will only grow stronger catalyzing his movement for beyond 2012.

However if they do not embrace him now, they may face a total ideological takeover of the GOP by 2016 as evidenced by his growth in dedicated and informed supporters since 2008-imagine how they will multiply in the next four years?

The GOP needs to make a decision quick, whatever decision they make may seal their fate, but lack of a decision will showcase their irrelevance.

Reminds me of a Warren Buffet quote, "you will only see who is swimming naked when the tide goes out." For the GOP the tide is going out.
