Truth & Salvage Co. w/ The Bushels

When: Wed., May 26 2010
Price: $12, $10 (adv.)
Traveling the country this summer in support of their self-titled debut album (released on Silver Arrow/Megaforce), L.A.’s Truth & Salvage Co. swing through Charleston this Wednesday for a headlining set of twangy rock ’n’ roll at The Pour House. “We are having a blast, and it just keeps getting better,” says vocalist/guitarist Scott Kinnebrew. “The whole thing is a dream come true. Throughout the summer, we have shows booked in towns and festivals all over the nation with people as eager to see us as we are eager to see them. Now is the moment, and this moment is fine.” Kinnebrew and his bandmates — singer/guitarist Tim Jones, keyboardist Walker Young, drummer Bill Smith, keyboardist Adam Grace, and bassist Joe Edel — attracted the attention of The Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson last year. Robinson signed the six-piece to his label and produced the new album. Its first single “Call Back” is packed with organic, four-part harmonies and a dense blend of guitar, organ, and drums. The band’s summer tour includes gigs with The Avett Brothers, The Black Crowes, and Gov’t Mule. Local band The Bushels celebrate the release of their new EP Wood & Steel tonight (see story). —T.
