Re: “P&C writes about McConnell's Confederate problem, but doesn't mention that photo ... yes, that photo

The Lt. Governor may have shown poor judgement, but did not tolerate racist jokes at his CSA galleries. I was at the Gas Light Square location and a customer started a "how many n---ers does it take..." joke and the then-Senator McConnell said, "Tell the punchline and we'll never do business, sir." In that picture, the two black guys represent Confederate Army irregulars-yes African Americans fought to defend the South.

Re: “Update: The trouble with the Wild Wing discrimination story (The video is back)

I live in North Charleston and I can pretty much imagine the proceedings. I'm a "cracka". Shaved head, camo pants, combat boots, heavy metal band t-shirts and a Thor's Hammer necklace, so I look like "White Power" trouble a mile away. And as soon as service at a business gets bad, the overwhelming majority don't hear the actual issue I'm addressing; they hear me shouting in what they're undoubtedly convinced is German, regarding invading Poland, and as a one-man Panzer Division, it's pretty much my sworn duty to make whateverthehell I see fit my business, if only for the shear fun of it.

I have witnessed large parties of our diverse community, the males clad in oversize pants while the females are bursting at the seems in what many have loosely defined as "12 pounds of flour in a 6-pound bag", demanding "Muh Rights" lest the full weight of the Southern Poverty Law Center come crashing down upon the White Supremacists in charge of the place. Never mind that it's an Indian-owned Mongolian-style Teriyaki Burrito joint, the Exulted Arch Whippersnapper of the Invisible Empire KKK is surely to blame for all diss mess, if only in spirit. Ever feel like George Zimmerman on Soul Train? Welcome to my world.

So I applaud the progressive (Read "communist tree-hugging diaper recycling". Or "Hipster") City Paper for bringing to light the fact that not everything that goes wrong in your pathetic self-entitled existence is "Racism". Gott Mit Uns.
