Let me say this.... Being from the Eastside of Charleston, 28 years and black, marijuana laws have really been used for racism on a level you wouldn't never know unless you lived it. I've been searched and harassed, a staggering amount of times since as far back as I can remember. Very young age. It's a shame that before we learn how to ride I bike were treated as criminals. Mind you, there is crime in my area (based on systematic poverty) but there's crime everywhere. I can really only speak for me and my experience with the races drug war. I've seen in all my years theres never not a time when you can't find drugs in charleston. It's a city problem. A state problem. So why are most (close to all) arrest and conviction are Blacks?
