Re: “City Paper's new arts editor debuts

Read Jim Reed?? If you think JS was pathetic, you have not read the most underqualified, egotistical, shallow, fool to grace a local paper this side of the Pacific. A "writer" that uses curse words to try an impress college students!, while constantly propping himself up to a bunch of low-talent rock musicians(Freud would have a field day with this one). Then further, voting HIS OWN BAND as "Best of Savannah". Now there's quality/integrity "no conflict of interst journalism!" Even recently mentioning his long defunct favourite spacy three-letter rock band(during a feature article!), one that no one has any interest of hearing about; though obviously he has chosen unprofessionally to use a public forum to prop its rotten legs and try to impress his stoned-out friends. Further, using subtle adjectives to make digs at, or play favourites, amoung musicians he favours in that town. Extremely cruel and unprofessional, like a coward hiding behind a tree and throwing apples at passing cars. And last but far from least, teaming up with the main editor of that "free paper" to shield himself from many many constructive criticisms or calls of change. Lots of letters to said clue-less main editor remain unanswered; like trying to topple a dictator that is acting above the law, this rotten root needs to be pulled long before we get rid of JS; Savannah needs fresh journalistic talent in their town like the US needs a new President. Yes, that bad. Good luck to John and his talented wife, both of whom will add to the Charleston music scene. -JP
