The Stray Englishman

When: Fri., Nov. 6, Sat., Nov. 7, Fri., Nov. 13 and Sat., Nov. 14 2015
Welcome to the New New: a new play in one of Charleston’s newest theatrical venues. 5th Wall Productions will be premiering a never-before-seen play this November. Taking place roughly 15 minutes from downtown Charleston, the farcical play The Stray Englishman was written by 5th Wall co-founder and Artistic Director Blair Cadden. This original performance promises a fresh round of humor and healthy helping of local talent. “I think the most unusual thing about this show is the story itself,”says Cadden. “It was inspired by a pretty bizarre story told to me by a former college roommate, then spun into something far more bizarre — even more than I anticipated. All of the characters are total nutjobs in their own special ways, but I think — I hope — they’re all grounded in some sort of truth. The setup is boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy goes to ridiculous lengths to get girl back. But where it goes from there is something else entirely.” —Kaleb Eisele
