The ReDo Party

When: Wed., Feb. 29, 6-9 p.m. 2012
Price: $20/suggested donation, Free/men
Brides sometimes spend thousands of dollars on wedding dresses, and they should be allowed to wear them more than once, but unfortunately that isn’t really possible without said women coming off as crazy. Unless you’re at skirt! magazine’s ReDo Party, which benefits the publication’s College of Charleston scholarship fund. It’s not every day that the City Paper promotes something that one of our competitor publications is doing, but we think this event sounds pretty cool — it’s a chance to redo your “I do.” “This party is for everyone, from soon-to-be-brides to anyone who’s hiding a hideous bridesmaid dress in their closet,” says Margaret Pilarski, skirt!’s national editor. “Dress up or dress down, but prizes will be given for best wedding dress, worst bridesmaid dress, most outrageous hairdo, and coolest shoes, plus we’ll have a bouquet toss.” There will also be drinks from Icebox and music from DJs Cassidy and the Kid. You don’t have to dress up if you don’t want to, or if that bridesmaid dress really is just too hideous. All men get in the event free.
