When: Tue., Nov. 10 2009
www.myspace.com/theragbirds
Ann Arbor, Mich.- based folk /rock and world-beat band The Ragbirds recent hit to road in a new diesel mini-bus that runs on waste vegetable oil in support of a new album titled Finally Almost Ready (a follow-up to 2007’s acclaimed Wanderlove). They headline a Tuesday evening show at the Pour House with a few musical tricks up their sleeves. Led by multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Erin Zindle, the band combines genres “as diverse as Celtic, Afro-Cuban, reggae, rock, and folk, while maintaining a familiar element of pop music.” The lineup includes guitarist T.J. Zindle, bassist Dan Hildebrandt, drummer Randall Moore, and percussionist Tim Dziekan. Zindle skillfully switches between violin, mandolin, banjo, accordion, and percussion in addition to singing lead vocals (all while dancing) Showtime is 9 p.m. —T. Ballard Lesemann
