Poetry of Craigslist/Don’t Tell Mom!, a double header comedy show by What If? Productions, will feature eight-10 local comedians reenacting real Craigslist ads and an improv show based on audience secrets. “Both shows are a unique combination of spontaneity and humor,” says artistic director Kyle Barnette. “People who enjoy that sense of the unexpected will definitely enjoy the shows — there’s nothing else in town like it.” Barnette gives an example of a Poetry of Craigslist skit where comedians choose an ad from the personals section and then invite an audience member on stage to participate in a speed-dating performance of the ad. Jeremy McLellan, City Paper’s Best Local Comedian of 2015, will host. Hunter Gardner, another local comedian, will host the second show, Don’t Tell Mom!, an improv performance based entirely on the deepest, darkest secrets of audience members. People will be encouraged to anonymously volunteer their secrets for comedians to reenact.
