Disco Inferno

After their first showcase packed a sold-out house, a team of some of Charleston’s best comedians are back once again. Local laugh-makers Jessica Mickey, Peter Schwartz and City Paper’s 2015 Comic of the Year, Jeremy McLellan, will be sharing the stage with fresh talent such as 17-year-old Tyler Wigger in a comedy show without boundaries. Michael Clayton, performer and producer of the show, told us he thinks the Charleston community is perfectly suited to this type of entertainment. “The overwhelming majority of people in Charleston work extremely hard and have very busy lives,” he told us, “and to have a show where they can have an escape from the structure and the protocol of life’s obligations and simply enjoy comedy that is outside the bounds of what they would hear in traditional conversation is very appealing to a lot of individuals.” Returning audience members will recognize Joseph Coker reprising his hosting services for the evening and DJ Casey Lever will be spinning the evening’s introductory tunes.
