The Dark Arts Ball

When: Sat., Oct. 31, 10 p.m. 2009
Phone: (843) 278-2374
Price: $40/advance, $50/door, $35/students

Don’t get your hopes up, Harry Potter fans —Eye Level Art’s Dark Arts Ball isn’t themed around your favorite series of books (even though that would have been pretty cool). The contemporary gallery is hosting a party with a distinctly artistic theme, fittingly. Local artists Max Miller, Julio Cotto, Sarah Haynes, Bennett Goodman, and LaBanna Bly are transforming the warehouse gallery into “a hauntingly beautiful and opulent venue,” according to gallery coordinator Caroline Millard. Guests can check out custom works and installations created just for the party, as well as projections of horror film classics and a performance from burlesque troupe the Red Hot Rebelettes. The ball is open bar, and food will be available from Street Foods between 10 p.m. and midnight. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Trident Area. Tickets are available at Eye Level Art, Circa Lighting, and Wild Flour Bakery. —Erica Jackson
