The Carrion Cheer Opening Reception

When: Fri., May 18, 6:30-8 p.m. 2018
Price: Free
The German artist duo Böhler & Orendt will create their first exhibition in the US, an immersive installation in the Halsey Institute, which they have labeled a “makeshift trans-dimensional stopover camp.” The installation will consist of several interconnected tents through which viewers can walk. Each tent will feature an apparition of an extinct animal. When interviewed for CP’s cover story last week, Orendt said that all of the duo’s work has one thing in common: “They are about humans on this planet and the lack of foresight in human activities. Humans are doing things for the sake of doing them, simply because they have always done it, without ever reflecting that at some point, a change in the way we do things could be good.”
