Re: “Are Tea Partiers Racist?

I am a conservative. I'm not a Republican anymore, just a Conservative. And I support the Tea Party Movement. For those who do not know the facts, the Tea Party began as a group of people that believe we, as a nation, are Taxed Enough Already (TEA). BS3000 asks how many of the Tea Party are black or Latino. More than the mainstream media would have you believe. I know several members personally that are black. Not that thier color has anything to do with anything. I believe that given the opportunity any American can achieve great things with thier lives. I have watched with great interest all of the diatribe that has been spouted about the "Tea Party". I find it very humorous that allegations of racism are made about anyone that does not "embrace" the policies of the current administration. In full view, of no fewer than 10 television cameras and a police officer, members of the Congressional Black Caucus and a gay member alleged that racist and homophobic slurs were shouted at them from the crowd. Yet no camera or microphone recorded it and the police officer didn't hear it. Spitting on someone is an arrestable offense (assault). Did the police officer arrest anyone? Nope. Did the officer see anyone spit at, on or in the direction of the members??? I didn't see the officer arrest or engage anyone in the video footage. Did you? I guess the officer was a racist too and pretended to not see or hear any of the alleged attacks on the Members. Members of the "Tea Party" have offered $100,000 to anyone that can produce video or audio evidence of the alleged slurs. Sounds like an easy way to make a buck to me. If it existed, it would have been on CBS, ABC, NPR and NBC within minutes. Shouting accusations of racism is a tried and true way to make people "back off" from any issue. None of us want to be labeled a racist or even endure the stigma of even the accusation. But we as Americans, in the face of electing the first black President, cannot be viewed as being above race issues. Even today. It's a shame that we cannot all have an opinion about the issues of the day. Only liberals are educated enough, smart enough and enlightened enough to have an opinion. The rest of us are just racists.
