Re: “Since when have conservatives become so protective of government?

Your understanding of the orders issued by the Dept. of State and/or Hillary Clinton is just that... your understanding. You can choose to tear her apart or knock her down, but the cables are not written by one person and sent to another person. The cables in question are certainly fiery and "newsworthy," if you choose to view them without applying any sort of principle of charity.

The Depts of Defense and State have had policies going back to the Bush admin (Rice's name was attached to a few cables that COULD be perceived as ugly - if you chose to see it that way) involving the use of cables as a way to get messages to ACTUAL SPIES whose cover, more often than not, is AS DIPLOMATS in overseas embassies.

The "facts" are being thrown out like meat to rabid wolves and people like you are reacting to them without so much as THINKING about what the cables actually mean, including how and why they are used the way they are. Without even having a chance to digest the meat you just go off on tangent after tangent, not having any way of being sure what any one cable actually means. Heck, at least a few could VERY EASILY have been written by Assange's crew in an attempt to disgrace America and those in public service, such as Hillary Clinton. And you swallowed it hook, line and sinker, suggesting she's got a mafia-esque style and is so deviously Satanic that she'd conspire her power to bring down the nation.

Well, the world's leaders don't think of her that way. Nor do those with whom she's served in the Senate. And the American public no longer thinks of her so negatively because they've seen the fight in her; she's an American and she will do what she can to ensure our interests are protected. What she can't do is argue with people like you, who are stuck in in the early 90s. Thank God she doesn't have to; it's not like you have any notable diplomatic skills. I, on the other hand, am happy to argue for the sake of the good.
