Re: “UPDATED: Downtown skatepark gets $2 million

ENOJO, No I don't think we need to get rid of all parks. My issue is we don't have the money at this time to spend it on such programs. Have you and all the skate boarders here heard the system is shutting down. The teachers are having to take days off without pay in the charleston area. There are people without jobs who are unable to pay their property taxes. There are renters without jobs who can't pay the high cost of rent due to the landlords having to pass on the County skate board taxes to them.
It's the issue of you wanting something and everyone else has to pay for it just so you can climb a wall.
As a matter of fact this makes many who work and don't work very mad!!!

Re: “Are cruise ships harmless fun or an environmental scourge?

Our almighty Joe is only worried about himself. He wanted to cram down the throats of the citizens of the City a green plan. He visioned this plan would become an international plan for all in the world to follow. It would reduce pollution to insure "Sustainability".
Well Why would he have done all he could within his power to bring these huge polluting ships into the harbor and tie them up in the city. Now there are talks to deal with the waste and pollution they are bringing into Charleston.
If you look at all he does it becomes clear his actions are to benefit him and not our welfare.

Re: “Study supports sustainable sustainability

The Mayor and his Green people have gone mad. They wrote a proposed Green Plan for the city to follow. My goodness it is 180 page . The amount of info. in it could be used for a whole degree in college. Thank God it has not passed.
It allows Charleston to regulate anything to do with the oceans rising. It allows them to tell you you must buy battery cars. It tells you there will be no garbage. You will have to get various colored bags. You would have to put paper in red bags, metal in blue, food in green, plastic in yellow, and glass in maroon. They will make you take the trash to certain dump zones. If you run over your alotted weight for the month you will be fined. if you put a tomatoe in with the metal you will be fined. Please don't laugh this is true.
Also they wrote the whole report without defining what they were doing. Something about Green and sustainability.
ARGH do we want to sustain life? Do we want to sustain life as we know it? Do we want to sustain life in way it is enjoyable ? What is it they want to do for us?
Nothing makes any sense. Joe wants to tax and regulate the citizens of the area. He is wanting to do it under "Green" . The next project off his table was to bring these huge cruiseships into the harbor. Now there is a huge concern about all the pollution they will bring to the area. I think he has lost his mind. Is he really worried about "Green" or is he more interested in finding more money for the city to spend? Why bring in these ships if you are worried about destroying our beautiful Charleston?
