Really enjoyed this piece. Greenville has made a conscious decision to make itself a destination with parks, events, restaurants, etc, when it otherwise would have remained lackluster.

I would absolutely LOVE to see Charleston make King Street pedestrian-only between Calhoun and Market, not just for second Sunday, but fo-eva eva. This feels extreme to many, but I think the local biz would be down for it (judging from the success of Sec Sunday).

It's already rough to drive and park there, the sidewalks are crowded as is, and no one wants to widen King Street and risk losing its look and feel. Many other European colonial cities (that have also built a bigger city around original 'old city' districts have kept these central areas pedestrian only. Thoughts?
