These events are fantastic, and if you are looking for another fun and worthwhile pick for Sunday, try this: Bring a date, bring friends, bring your dancing shoes, and bring a sense of revelry for a summer’s shindig to benefit Communities In Schools at Mimi’s Creekside on James Island. Music on the Marsh will be held Sunday, August 27, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Proceeds will benefit Communities In Schools of the Charleston Area, Inc. (CIS). CIS is a nonprofit dropout prevention agency that connects resources from the community with at-risk students with the goal of helping them stay in school and graduate. The event costs $15 in advance and $20 the day of the event, and admission includes the cost of food and music -- East Coast touring band Black Eyed Susan is playing. There will also be a cash bar. Tickets may be purchased by calling Communities In Schools at 720-2346.
