Star Wars: In Concert

When: Fri., Nov. 6, 8 p.m. 2009
Phone: (843) 529-5050
Price: $35-$75

Think about the most iconic movie scores in cinematic history. What comes to mind? Two words: Star Wars. John Williams — also known for creating the soundtracks for Indiana Jones, Jaws, E.T., Harry Potter, and many others — composed music for all six films in the saga, and Star Wars: In Concert features the best songs from all of them, performed live by a symphony orchestra.

The multi-media event is narrated by Anthony Daniels, the actor who played C-3PO in all of the films, and features a choir as well as specially-edited footage from the films displayed on a gigantic high-def LED screen.

“We’ve taken the key themes from the music and cut together all the images that fit with each theme, so you can really get a sense of how the music played into the images,” George Lucas, creator of the Star Wars saga, says in the press release.

“This event has been crafted to present Star Wars from many points of view,” says Another Planet Touring Producer Spencer Churchill. “For the first time, the full dramatic sweep of Williams’ iconic scores can be heard performed live in one evening.

The show is a new way of experiencing the epic scope of the saga.” Besides the show, fans can check out an exhibit of Star Wars costumes, props, artifacts, artwork, and behind-the-scenes videos from the Lucasfilm archives. —Erica Jackson
