Re: “Sanford investigation left to the media

Why is the p&c not raising all kinds of sand??? The politicians are pushing this thing around from one bureaucracy to another, stalling for time, hoping that any criminal or impeachable act will be forgotten, or that it may not even be uncovered.

There may not be any problem or crime, but that is not the point—we should know for certain, for once and for all! Under our State Constitution, state records are public records and given the current set of facts, EVERY concerned citizen should DEMAND the records be made public! Sunshine in our ELECTED government should never be part of the question, unless THERE IS A SMOKING GUN—and based on their foot dragging, it looks like there is a smoking gun!! WE NEED THE TRUTH, WE NEED SOME INTEGRITY AND WE NEED SOME HONESTY...or have the politicians forgotten what those words are all about??

They think if they can sweep it under the rug, the outcome won't make any difference, and they'll be safe. But there is an election coming, and this time voters are going to demand answers, and some honesty.

If the media does its job and demands answers, we'll get some answers. And there is one way to find out exactly what is going on—get the records that are supposed to be public. In the words of Deep Throat, FOLLOW THE MONEY!!!

Re: “Don't Blame Me, I Voted for Mark Sanford

Why not see unemployment in South Carolina go to 20-25%? Why not see 1/3 of the cops pulled off the street? Why not have half the teachers laid off— from where' does the unemployment they're supposed to get come? And Obama did NOT start this, did not contribute to it and did not play a major role in the housing/real estate/pension mess! George Bush and his cronies were in charge...and that is where the blame lay (if you want to lay it somewhere!). Greed, dishonesty, lack of ethics, and a lack of oversight are the causes of this mess and the current intransigence of Republicans—here and in D.C. — is the activity that will create more of a mess of this problem. There are/were only two rules in dealing with this mess:
1) Something had to be done!
2) You can't change rule no. 1!
