Tastes like chicken

Southern Living’s Taste of Charleston, a three-day long foodie fest, culminates in the main event at Boone Hall, where over 50 Charleston restaurants will be serving up sample-sized plates of their favorite dishes. Restaurants include past participants like 82 Queen and Zeus Grill and Seafood as well as newcomers like Bistro Toulouse, Cove, and SOL Southwest Kitchen and Tequila Bar. South Carolina breweries, like Charleston’s Holy City, Greenville’s Thomas Creek, and Spartanburg’s RJ Rockers, along with 20 other breweries, will offer beer tastings. Throughout the day there will be entertainment including live music from Super Deluxe, the Waiter’s Race, where competitors race through an obstacle course with two full wine glasses on a tray, and the Kid’s Kitchen Sideshow where children can see magic shows, sing along with Miss Irene, and participate in a donut eating contest. A portion of the proceeds will go towards the Ronald McDonald House, Hollings Cancer Center, and the Charleston County Schools Science Materials Resource Center.
