Re: “North Korea threatens U.S. by firing rocket that could, like, maybe, possibly reach the Philippines

I'm pretty sure last week North Korea reported it had discovered a unicorn so there's that.

Re: “Liberals' dogmatic belief in gun control is completely at odds with reality

Here is a thought, interview some individuals from local law enforcement (SWAT/patrolman/detective/Chief) and then some from the military - get a variety of opinions. This would have been fairly easy to do, correct? Instead of just making an assumption, go and ask some professionals their thoughts.

You went into this article with your mind made up on the issue and then tried to rationalize it - we has humans almost always do this. Which goes back to my earlier point, humans aren't going to behave logically and rationally in foreign and highly stressful situations.

But I digress, go get some opinions from the professionals unless you are afraid of the answer you might get.

Re: “Liberals' dogmatic belief in gun control is completely at odds with reality

Why does the US Gov't spend time and money so much on training members of the Special Forces if any gun toting individual off the street is adequately prepared to take down a gunman in this type of situation? I mean hell, we could have sent you into Pakistan to take out Bin Laden.

Yes, other people with guns would be the solution. Because I'm sure that wouldn't have gone badly. I mean, the average gun owner is trained in SWAT/DELTA Force/SEAL anti-terrorism tactics, correct? Darkness, tear gas grenades, light from the projector plus movie sound-effects, screams, people running, and a gunman ultra-heavily armed wearing kevlar vest, ballistic helmet, groin, and leg protectors would have been easy to take down. I mean no one would have been confused if suddenly the gunman opened fire. If two other armed citizens pulled out guns and opened fire, the rest of the movie going crowd would have automatically realized these two people were not with the original gunman. These two armed citizen moviegoers would have had perfect aim and would never had hit other moviegoers trying to escape therefore wounding more people. If SWAT would have raided the theater, they would have recognized that there was only actually one threat (because the panicked crowd again would have recognized the two armed citizens were not with the gunman and told the police as such) and would not have opened fire on the two armed citizens.

Jack. All other arguments aside. You are a moron in this column. To think people, ultra-emotional beings would have been prepared or it would have been as simple as just taking aim at the gunman. Have you never read any sociological or psychological experiment involving crowds and their behavior? We know witnesses are highly unreliable even in non-stressful situations and this theater shooting would be infinitely more intense.
