Skinful Halloween

When: Sat., Oct. 25, 10 p.m. 2008
Price: $25/advance, $30/door
If you’re only making it out to one wild Halloween party this year (though we don’t know why you’d limit yourself when the parties stretch for two weeks), it’s gotta be Skinful. The shindig that started as a small party at local veterinarian Brian King’s home is now one of the most anticipated Halloween parties of the year. The party experienced some controversy last year, when James Island residents protested its huge size and dare-to-bare slogan. This year, King has ditched the slogan and moved things inside to the Old Berle Factory, next to Buffalo South on Folly Road. There will be music from DJ Logic, Sojorn, Dub Island Sound System, DJ Jude K, Spaced Invaders, Breakaway Republic, and the TBC Brass Band from New Orleans. Other wicked entertainment includes, hula hoopers, Charleston Burlesque Troupe, a mechanical bull, jump castles, and a slide. All you have to bring is a creative costume and the booze of your choice. Bonus: You’ll have plenty of time to recover before October 31. Proceeds from the event benefit the Charleston Nine, LEEP, and Camp Good Times. —Erica Jackson
