Re: “Nikki Haley is America's sweetheart. South Carolina? Not so much.

Nikki Haley is a breath of fresh air. I have seen her speak a number of times, and I find her a refreshing change from the average candidate. She can stand up to the most obnoxious questioners - I saw her belittled by a know-it-all attorney and she handled him with dignity and grace. She knows the issues. I listened to a debate for the state Association of Realtors in Columbia that consisted of all the other candidates besides Nikki - came to the conclusion that Nikki is head and shoulders above them all. If SC looks down on her it is because she isn't one of the "good ol' boys". It will be SC's loss if Nikki loses the primary.

Re: “Tea Party Pulse: Kobrovsky tries to climb out of second tier status

I have been to a number of the events where a number of the candidates have run. The Republican Party has some very good people running - however, I was very surprised to see that Paul Thurmond was running fourth in the poll. He comes across as a much stronger candidate than Larry although Larry has some very good points. However Paul has really done his homework and has a really good understanding of the issues in other areas than just around Charleston. The name Thurmond may open some doors to get him heard, but he is not capitalizing on his family name - he is running on his own merit. However, when there are 40% undecided, the results of that particular poll can't mean very much.
