Re: “The Agenda: Growth with some pain points; Confidential nuclear report; Metal detectors in public schools?

If you cannot find housing near your job, then how about find a job near your housing? Or ride one of those empty CARTA buses that local taxpayers pay tens of millions of dollars to fund despite no one riding them.

I approve of Trump's disallowance for deductibles for local and state taxes. Just because citizens vote to raise their own local and state taxes doesn't mean that they should be allowed to pay a lesser amount to the Federal government. The moral of the story is to stop voting for local and state tax increases and not to feel entitled to paying less than your "fair share" to the Federal government just because you voted to increase the share you pay to your local and state governments.

Rep. Wendell Gilliard should consider that "gun free zones" are the most dangerous places in the United States. Most of the mass shootings in the last 20 years in the United States have occurred in pseudo-safe "gun free zones." I'd feel much safer in a school where the teachers all had pistols on their hips. It amazes me that the "sitting duck" method is still promoted. But to be fair and perhaps lend credence to his cause, there does seem to be some statistical evidence that metal detectors have worked in some high-risk school districts. NYPD crime statistics make a good case for this.

At least Slager will be doing 20 years prison time. That's more than we can say for the illegal alien murderer of Kathryn Steinle who Democrats let go, or the celebrated murderer of Nicole Brown who Democrats let go, or for officer Philip Mitchell Brailsford who gunned down Daniel Shaver who was inexcusably acquitted.

Re: “College of Charleston area gets fancy, updated street signs

How many thousands of dollars did this cost? Be honest.
