Donna Hardy has spent years researching and tracking down the original strains of Sea Island Indigo that once thrived as one of the Lowcountry’s most important crop. Her indigo variety dates back 250 years and is grown at the Clemson Research Center, where it is carefully monitored and nurtured. The plant provides a beautiful and intense blue dye. Though Hardy solely offers her indigo for dyeing, she plans to add indigo extract to her list of products and is currently growing a field of indigo at Rebellion Farm.
