Savage in Limbo

When: Feb. 17-20, 8 p.m. 2010
Price: $8, Free/CofC students, faculty, staff

Hanging out at bars. Contemplating life with a group of peers. Obsessing over the opposite sex. In Savage in Limbo, a group of College of Charleston actors will perform roles that may be pretty relatable to their own lives. Presented by Center Stage, CofC’s only student-run theater organization, the play was written by John Patrick Shanley and directed by Meredith Cook. It has been performed in cities from New York to Chicago. Set in a seedy neighborhood bar in the Bronx, five 32-year-olds try to figure out issues like disappointment and love. Featuring zany comedy and tense confrontations, the characters must decide whether or not they can change at this point in their lives. It’s a question that the actors will probably have to deal with on their own one day. Hopefully when that happens, they’ll remember their lines. —Susan Cohen
