Re: “Chef Will Cisa has taken over Básico's kitchen

Congratulations Will. We worked together a decade or so ago and you could tell them that you had the drive to do great things.

Re: “S.C. legislator calls for an end to Confederate Memorial Day

I agree with the commentary about the holiday being observed in our hearts and minds but, then the last 4 bullet points ruin the entire article and makes them right on why we need the memorial day. Slavery, although being a part of the war and what everyone observes as the main motive of the war, was only a sidenote of the reasons we were at war. In fact, the reasons we crumbled as a country are what we are currently arguing about in today's politics.
State rights vs Federal government. The right to be able to govern your state the way you see fit. If you want to smoke marijuana, let people drink at 18, or drug test people for welfare checks those are rights that you should be able determine on a state level.
I think we can all agree that slavery was wrong and something that had to be gotten rid of but, this memorial day, if anything, is the day we remember when states lost the rights to make their own laws.

Re: “First Look: The Angel Oak nude shoot

The removal of such an ancient tree should far surpass the fau pas of a little nudity in public. We, as Americans being so uptight about a little flesh is a problem. If you were to spend a little time in Europe, you would see nudity everywhere, including commercials in between precious television time. If it were something that were exposed to all along we would be desensitized and it wouldn't be such an issue.
