Not only is this artisanal ice cream made locally in small batches, it's also made using local produce and seasonal flavors. They show up weekly at the Charleston and Mt. Pleasant farmers markets with flavors like orange and rosemary, coffee with molasses toffee, chocolate pluff, poached pear sorbet, bourbon-ginger, peach and sorghum, cinnamon-rosemary, and caramelized pear sorbet. Endlessly creative and ever-changing, the folks over at Roots will unveil their truly awesome CSI (Community Supported Ice Cream) this summer. They'll kick off their 12-week season the second week of June. Each week, subscribers will receive a different local, seasonal, deliciously fresh gourmet pint made with the same fruits, veggies, and herbs they use in their CSA.
