Re: “Age divides the small crowd at Occupy Charleston

I am sorely disappointed in the City Paper editors for printing this negative discriminatory piece, I won't call in at article, criticizing the older citizens of Charleston for not fully participating in the set up of Occupy Charleston.

I wish the piece had asked where are the college students in this protest? Crippled by apathy and hungover from a night at the Silver Dollar? The College of Charleston has an enrollment of 10,000 students; Trident Tech 15,000. Occupy Charleston managed to inspire the participation of 50 kids at miserable, dank and muddy Brittlebank Park? That's not a protest that is a poor testament of my generation. Why not Washington Square or Marion Square, right in the middle of town? The protest is Occupy Wall Street, not occupy Prospect Park, for a reason.

And to the ageist Chris Haire, Gandhi was 60 at the time of the Salt March, which means that would have qualified for AARP.
