Awendaw Green hosts the second annual “Rocktoberfest” music festival (off of Hwy. 17, behind the Seewee Outpost. The festival features dozens of local and visiting acts (and numerous volunteers) on three stages. Food and beverage will be available. The major goal at the festival is to raise money for the Charleston County Band Instrument Fund, which helps the students of local high schools’ marching and concert band programs (see story). Featuring 3 Dudes, The Makeshift, Henry’s Attic, Travis Allison Band, The Whisperjets, Ten Toes Up, The Plainfield Project, Hit or Miss, Larry Keel & Natural Bridge (pictured), Obscene Machine, My (R)Evolution, Quasiphonics, Big Stoner Creek, Kurly Wolf, Ryan Bonner & The Dearly Beloved, Steel Petals, Mac Leaphart Band, The Explorers Club, Hundred Hands Down, The Unawares, Spanish Moss, L. Brown Odyssey, Miriam Allen, Coker-Church Band, Doug Jones, White Rhino, Hungry Monks, and Austin Crane. Noon-9 p.m.
