Roadside Seafood started as a food truck in late 2012, but now it has a brick-and-mortar on Folly Road. It’s an unpretentious little place where about a dozen tables are draped with vinyl red-and-white gingham tablecloths and topped with a roll of paper towels and a bottle of malt vinegar. The seafood-centric menu contains everything from gator tail to shark bites, but there are tacos and a hefty steak and cheese sandwich, too. No matter which route you go, each and every visit should start with the she-crab soup, and a fried seafood basket should be on your radar. Mix and match items such as scallops, flounder, and clams with sides like red rice, mac ‘n’ cheese, or sweet potato fries, but our favorite is the fried shrimp. —Eric Doksa (Dish, Summer 2018)
