Re: “Charleston Ballet Theatre accused of using works without permission

The above poster is correct: The dancers are not treated well at all, and this article isn't even the tip of the iceberg. I also know for a fact that Bahr was indeed aware of the Kylian copyright infringement, and those who have written proof of this fact are currently working on getting the proof to the City Paper. I know many dancers who have been miserable here, but happy at every other company they have worked for. It is the environment at CBT that brings the misery, not "troublemakers." The scarcity of jobs in this field makes this a very difficult situation for those employed at CBT. Do they abandon the years of hard work and sacrifice they have put in to achieve success in this field if no other job presents itself? I truly hope that the CBT board will find competent and respectful professionals to direct this company, so that Charleston will have the ballet company it deserves. Thank you to the City Paper for tackling this matter.
