A worthy ride

If you bike in Charleston, you may want to check out the sixth annual RIDEdwin. A Charleston slow ride, this bike parade commemorates the life of community leader and urban livability advocate Edwin Gardner, who was struck and killed by a driver while riding his bike near the City Marina in 2010. A white bicycle is permanently stationed on Lockwood Boulevard in his memory, and hundreds of cyclists have participated in this ride in past years. The parade begins at Palmetto Brewery at 289 Huger St. and will follow a four mile, 30-minute route through the peninsula north of Calhoun. After the ride, participants can enjoy a brunch featuring AutoBanh FoodTruck and Food Box. Suitable for all ages and new bikers.
